Hi, I’m Josh Reuck

I'm a photographer based near Akron, Ohio. I shoot outdoor adventure, events, environmental portraits, and headshots, for brands, organizations, and individuals across Northeast Ohio and beyond.

I studied photography, then spent a decade doing other things. I worked as a park ranger, ran a ski lift, spent years as part of the crew at Skydive Chicago. Photography was always the thread running through it, the thing I kept coming back to regardless of what else I was doing.

What I've learned from that path is that the best images come from actually understanding what someone is trying to say, not just pointing a camera at them. Before I shoot, I want to know what you're trying to communicate, who you're trying to reach, and what you want people to feel. That's more than a checklist for me, it's the part I find most interesting.

In 2023 I started Portraits of Adventure, an ongoing documentary portrait project documenting people and their relationships to the outdoor places they explore, steward, and protect. It started as a personal project and became something bigger, a reminder of why this work matters and what photography can do when it's pointed at something real.

I'm based in the Akron area and work with clients across Northeast Ohio including Cleveland, Canton, Hudson, and Medina. Available for regional and national travel.
